1. In which fields is Sönmez Certification authorized?
Our organization is authorized by the Vocational Qualifications Authority (VQA/MYK) and accredited by the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TURKAK) according to the TS EN ISO/IEC 17024 standard. We offer examination and certification services in 7 different sectors and 29 different occupational branches, including Construction, Metal, Textile, Machinery, and Transportation.
2. Is obtaining a VQA (MYK) certificate mandatory?
Obtaining a VQA Vocational Qualification Certificate is mandatory for occupations classified as dangerous and very dangerous, as specified in communiqués published by the Ministry of Family, Labor, and Social Services. Administrative fines are applied to employers who hire uncertified personnel in these fields.
3. Who can apply for the exams, and what are the application requirements?
Except for special conditions stated in the National Qualifications, any individual who believes they practice the occupation may apply for our exams. Application requires a copy of their T.R. Identity Document, the application form, and a receipt proving the payment of the examination fee.
4. How are the examinations conducted?
Exams are generally two-phased: Theoretical (multiple-choice test) and Performance (practical application) exam. To be considered successful, the candidate must achieve the minimum passing score specified in the national qualification for both phases.
5. Can I get a refund if I fail the exam?
According to VQA regulations, candidates who fail the first exam are granted two (2) free re-examination attempts within one (1) year for the component they failed (theoretical or performance). Examination fees are non-refundable.
6. What is the validity period of the certificate?
The validity period for Vocational Qualification Certificates is generally 5 years from the date of issue. A renewal (surveillance) process is required at the end of the 5-year period.
7. Why do exam fees vary by occupation?
Exam fees vary within the upper limits determined by VQA, based on the difficulty of the performance (practical) exam required for the occupation, the cost of consumables/materials used, and the exam duration.
8. Do you issue Type G Operating Machinery Operator Certificates?
Yes, through our courses approved by the Ministry of National Education, we issue authorized Type G Operating Machinery Operator Certificates for many in-demand branches, such as forklift, manlift, and overhead crane.
